Farm-vet module · Chain plan · separate from the pet clinic workflow
Dairy farm vet software for large-animal vets
The Farm-vet module is a separate module for dairy and large-animal work, not part of the pet clinic screens. Herd lists by ear tag, insemination and pregnancy dates that set their own follow-ups, a day list of farm visits on your phone, milk-yield notes and a bill the farmer gets on WhatsApp when you mark the visit done.
Included in the Chain plan · runs in the phone browser (needs mobile data; offline planned) · WhatsApp farmer receipts

What farm mode adds to Pet Clinic Software
Herd lists with ear tags
A farmer profile holds every animal: ear-tag or INAPH ID, breed, age, lactation number and photo. Search a tag from the shed and the full history opens.
Insemination and pregnancy tracking
Record the AI date and straw; Pet Clinic Software schedules the pregnancy check at 60 days, calculates expected calving and reminds the farmer on WhatsApp.
Field-visit day list
Plan the farms for the day and put them in your order; each stop shows the farmer, village, herd size and purpose. Distance sorting and map navigation are planned.
Milk-yield notes
Log morning and evening yield and fat % per animal; the herd page shows the last 7 days' litres so you can spot a drop and ask why.
Treatments and withdrawal (planned)
Record findings on the visit today. Weight-band dosing for cattle and milk and meat withdrawal dates on the farmer receipt are planned.
Same-day farmer billing
Marking a visit done with a charge raises an invoice for the herd and WhatsApps the farmer a receipt with a UPI pay link. Tamil receipts and monthly statements are planned.
A field day, start to finish
Plan the day
The visits page lists today's farms with the purpose of each visit; reorder them by hand. The farm page shows PD checks and calvings due in the next 30 days.
Record in the shed
Find the animal by ear tag, record AI, PD, calving or dry-off, note the finding and log milk yield. Needs mobile data today.
Bill at the gate
Mark the visit done with the charge: an invoice is raised and the farmer gets a WhatsApp receipt with a UPI pay link.
Follow up
An AI record sets the PD check at 60 days and the expected calving date; herd vaccines such as FMD follow the cattle schedule your vet sets.
Why we built a farm mode into pet clinic software
Dairy vets in Pollachi, Erode and Salem see more animals in a morning than a city pet clinic sees in a week, and most of it lives in a diary and a phone gallery. Farmer apps such as herd-management tools are built for the farmer, not for the vet who treats forty herds. Global large-animal modules exist in ezyVet, but they are priced in US dollars for large practices, and we could not find UPI, WhatsApp or Tamil support in their public material (October 2026; check with the vendor).
The Farm-vet module is kept separate from the pet clinic workflow but shares the same billing and reminder engine: herds instead of households, ear tags instead of microchips, breeding dates instead of boarding dates. A mixed practice that runs a town clinic and does field rounds uses one account on the Chain plan, and the reports show both sides of the business.
Cattle, buffalo, goats and sheep use the same herd model; default cattle and goat vaccine schedules are reference defaults for your vet to review and edit to your state programme. Poultry flocks are on the roadmap.

Frequently asked questions
How are cattle identified in Pet Clinic Software?
By ear-tag number: the 12-digit INAPH tag where it exists, or your own tag series, with breed, age, lactation number and owner. In Pet Clinic Software a farmer profile holds the whole herd, so a visit to one farm shows every animal and what is due on one screen.
What does Pet Clinic Software track for breeding?
Pet Clinic Software tracks insemination date and bull or semen straw, pregnancy diagnosis date and result, expected calving, actual calving and dry-off. The next action for each animal, such as a PD check due 60 days after insemination, appears on the route list for that farm.
Does it work without mobile signal in a cattle shed?
Not yet. The Farm-vet module runs in the phone browser and needs mobile data to save a finding, breeding event or milk yield. Offline recording with later sync is planned. In low-signal areas, note findings and enter them when you are back in coverage.
Can I bill the farmer on the spot?
Yes. Marking a visit done with a charge raises an invoice for the herd and sends the farmer a WhatsApp receipt with a UPI pay link when your clinic UPI ID is set. Add drugs as lines on the invoice from Billing. Tamil receipts, milk withdrawal dates and monthly statements are planned.
Which plan has the Farm-vet module?
The Farm-vet module is a separate module from the pet clinic workflow and is included in the Chain plan at ₹5,999 a month, excluding GST. The plan also covers up to 10 staff logins and unlimited branches, so a mixed practice with a town pet clinic and dairy field rounds runs on one account and one set of reports.
