Veterinary hospital software with a live whiteboard

The Hospital module is a separate add-on to the core pet clinic product, for practices that admit animals. Every admitted pet sits on one board, by stage. Nurses see the next check for each patient, vets see who is waiting, and owners get a WhatsApp message when their dog moves out of surgery, without anyone picking up the phone.

In short: The Pet Clinic Software Hospital module is veterinary hospital software for Indian pet hospitals, included in the ₹2,999 Hospital plan (up to three staff logins) and the Chain plan. Its whiteboard shows every admitted animal in five stages with alerts and next-check times, WhatsApps the owner when a card moves, and links consent records, dosing and the controlled-drug register.

What the board does for a busy hospital

Five stages, one glance

Checked in, In exam, Surgery, Recovery, Ready for pickup. Counts in each column header tell the front desk how the day is going without asking anyone.

Alert badges that travel with the pet

Bites, Allergy, Fasting, Aggressive and your own tags sit on the card in red or amber. A new nurse on shift sees them before touching the animal.

Owner updates on WhatsApp

Moving a card to Recovery or Ready sends an approved template to the owner. Anxious calls drop, and the receptionist stops relaying messages from theatre.

Next check and pickup time

Each card carries the next-check time, the owner's pickup ETA, notes and the doses given, so the next shift sees what is due. A full hourly treatments grid is planned.

Consent before the knife

Surgery and anaesthesia consent recorded at check-in with the owner's name and time, attached to the record and printable for your file.

Controlled-drug register

Drugs you flag as controlled, dosed from the card after the vet verifies the dose, are written to an append-only register with vet, witness, patient and running balance.

Owner updates

The message that stops the 3 PM phone calls

Every hospital knows the pattern: the surgery list runs late, the owner calls twice, the receptionist walks to theatre to ask. With Pet Clinic Software the move from Surgery to Recovery is the message. The owner reads it on WhatsApp, replies with a thumbs up, and the front desk stays on the front desk.

  • A message per stage, sent as approved WhatsApp templates through the AvanceZone gateway
  • Pet name, owner name, clinic and pickup time filled in automatically
  • Switch off for the whole board, or untick it for a single move in a sensitive case
  • Owner replies are logged against the owner, not on a personal phone

A day in a Pet Clinic Software hospital

1

Admit

Check in from the appointment or walk-in queue. Alerts, weight and consent are captured before the pet leaves reception.

2

Treat

Vets move cards and dose from today's weight after the safety checks and their own verification. Nurses update next-check times. Controlled drugs get a register line.

3

Inform

Each move messages the owner on WhatsApp, including the pickup time at Recovery.

4

Discharge

Bill the stay on a GST invoice linked to the admission, collect UPI, set the follow-up and take the card off the board.

Built for Indian pet hospitals, not ported from the US

Whiteboards are standard in ezyVet, Vet Radar and Instinct, and they are excellent, at US hospital prices; we could not find a WhatsApp owner channel in their public material. In the Indian vet software we reviewed we could not find an in-patient board (public information as of October 2026; check with the vendor). Pet Clinic Software's Hospital module gives a three-vet practice in Coimbatore or Pune a similar board, with owner updates on the channel owners actually use, a pharmacy that prints GST invoices and a boarding calendar that checks vaccine validity before it accepts a stay.

It runs in any browser, so the theatre tablet, the reception desktop and the vet's phone open the same board (refresh to see a colleague's move). Role-based permissions decide who can view, edit or delete records.

Read the guide: How to run a hospital whiteboard in a vet clinic, or compare with ezyVet and Digitail. The same Hospital plan includes WhatsApp vaccination reminders and the weight-based dose calculator; see Hospital plan pricing.

Frequently asked questions

What does the hospital whiteboard show?

Every admitted animal as a card in one of five columns: Checked in, In exam, Surgery, Recovery and Ready for pickup. Each card shows the pet, species and age, alert badges such as Bites, Allergy or Fasting, the vet in charge and the time it entered the stage.

How do owner WhatsApp updates work?

A header switch, "WhatsApp owner when moved", is on by default. When a card moves, the owner gets the message for that stage, such as "Bruno is out of surgery and resting. You can pick him up after 5 PM." Turn the switch off for the whole board, or untick it for a single move in a sensitive case.

Can several vets and nurses use the board at once?

Yes. The Pet Clinic Software whiteboard is one shared board in the browser on every screen and phone (refresh to see others' moves), so the theatre tablet and the reception desk agree. Each move is logged with who moved it and when, and that audit trail doubles as the hospitalisation timeline for the record.

Does the whiteboard replace the treatment sheet?

No, it sits beside it. Each card carries a next-check time, the owner's pickup ETA, notes and doses given from the card's dose calculator, so the next shift sees what is due. A full hourly treatments grid is planned; until then keep your treatment sheet.

Which plan includes the Hospital module?

The Hospital module (whiteboard, admissions, boarding calendar) is in the Hospital plan at ₹2,999 a month for up to three staff logins and the Chain plan at ₹5,999. The Clinic plan at ₹1,499 is the core pet clinic product: records, reminders, the checked dose calculator, pharmacy and the drug register, without the in-patient board.
