Video consults

Vet telemedicine with a video link on WhatsApp

Offer video follow-ups and advice calls without a new app. Owners book a video slot online or at the desk, get a private meeting link on WhatsApp in their language, pay the fee by UPI and receive the visit summary afterwards.

In short: Pet Clinic Software video consults use Jitsi Meet, a free open-source video service: each consult gets a long random private room link that is sent to the owner on WhatsApp and shown on the vet's appointment list. Vets choose which hours accept video, set a fee collected by UPI pay link, and send a reviewed visit summary after the call. Included in every plan from ₹1,499 a month.
Live, using Jitsi Meet. Video runs on the public meet.jit.si service (operated by 8x8), not on our servers, and calls are not recorded by us. There is no built-in waiting room or card checkout. Check your State Veterinary Council's position on tele-consultation and use video for follow-ups, triage and advice.

How does a video consult work?

1

Book

The owner picks "Video consult" on your booking page or portal, or reception books it with "Where: Video".

2

Link on WhatsApp

A private room link (meet.jit.si/PCS-…) goes out with the time and fee, again in the evening reminder.

3

Consult

Vet presses "Join video" on the appointment; the owner opens the link in the phone browser.

4

Note and follow-up

Write or dictate the SOAP note, send the owner summary, and bill the fee with a UPI pay link.

What is included?

Tick "Video" on the working-hour blocks where a vet takes video calls.

One record

Video consults sit on the same chart, reminders and reports as clinic visits.

When is video the right choice?

Video works well for post-operative wound checks, skin and ear follow-ups with photos, behaviour and diet advice, and deciding whether a pet needs to come in tonight. It does not replace a physical exam, and many conditions need hands, a thermometer and tests. Your vet decides when to ask the owner to come in.

Digitail and vetPMS list telemedicine or tele-consultation, and Provet offers it through integrations. Based on public information as of October 2026; check with the vendor. Pet Clinic Software keeps it simple: no extra app for owners, a WhatsApp link in their language and the fee in rupees. See all features and plans.

Frequently asked questions

Which video service do you use?

Jitsi Meet on meet.jit.si, a free open-source service run by 8x8. Each consult gets a long random room name. The call runs in the owner's browser with no app and is not recorded by Pet Clinic Software.

Do owners need to install anything?

No. The link opens in the phone browser. On some phones Jitsi offers its app; owners can continue in the browser instead.

How is the video consult fee collected?

Set a default video fee in Online settings. The owner sees it when booking, and you bill it with a UPI pay link to your own UPI ID. Online card checkout is not offered.

Is vet telemedicine allowed in India?

Rules on veterinary tele-consultation are set by veterinary councils and can change; check your State Veterinary Council. Most clinics use video for follow-ups, triage and advice and ask owners to come in for anything needing an exam.
