QR vaccination certificate
A QR vaccination certificate for pets, verified in one scan
Issue a certificate from the pet's chart and every vaccine recorded so far goes onto it with a QR code. Boarding kennels, groomers, trainers and housing societies scan it, see each vaccine checked against today's date on petclinicsoftware.com, and see your clinic name on every scan.

What the certificate shows
The pet, unambiguously
Name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, colour and microchip number. A groomer can match the certificate to the dog in front of them.
Every vaccine with its batch
Vaccine name and brand, batch number, date given, valid-until date and the vet who gave it, exactly as recorded on the chart when the certificate was issued.
Status checked at scan time
The QR opens petclinicsoftware.com/cert/ and an 8-character code. Each vaccine's valid-until date is checked against today and shown green or red; a paper edit cannot change what the page shows.
Your clinic on every scan
Clinic name, city and phone appear on the verification page, and the owner's phone is masked. Every scan is a small advertisement for you.
Shared the way owners share
Sent to the owner on WhatsApp as a link, and printable from the browser. The owner forwards it to the kennel, the society or the trainer in one tap.
Reissue after a booster
After a booster, issue a new certificate: it gets a new QR and the old one shows "Superseded", so an out-of-date copy cannot pass as current.
How boarding, grooming and societies verify it
Scan the QR
Any phone camera opens the verification page. No app, no login, nothing to install at the kennel desk.
Match the pet
Name, breed, sex and microchip are on screen. Compare with the animal or the microchip reader.
Read the status
Green valid or red expired for each vaccine against today's date, and a Superseded banner if a newer certificate exists. The issuing clinic's phone is on the page for any query.
Keep a record
Kennels and societies can print or save the page from the browser with the date they checked it.
Why a verifiable certificate matters in India now
Housing societies in Bengaluru, Pune and Chennai increasingly ask residents for proof of rabies vaccination. Boarding kennels and daycare centres want DHPPiL and kennel cough on record before accepting a dog for Diwali week. Groomers ask too. Today the proof is a vaccine card in a drawer or a photo of it on a phone, and nobody can tell whether the date was changed.
A Pet Clinic Software certificate solves that for everyone. The owner has a document they can forward in seconds. The kennel can verify it without trusting the paper. Your clinic gets its name in front of every society secretary and groomer who scans it, and a reminder goes to the owner before a vaccine expires, which often means a booster booked with you rather than a lapse.
Validity follows the schedule your clinic's vet sets: each schedule entry has a validity period and a "core for boarding" flag (rabies and DHPPiL for dogs by default). Inside the Hospital module the same logic drives the boarding calendar: an expired or missing core vaccine blocks the booking and holds a vaccine slot instead. Read the puppy and kitten vaccination schedule for India to see the intervals the certificate uses, and how WhatsApp vaccination reminders bring owners back before the certificate turns red.
Frequently asked questions
What is on a Pet Clinic Software QR vaccination certificate?
Pet name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, colour and microchip number; owner name, city and masked phone; each vaccine with brand, batch number, date given, valid-until date and the vet who gave it; the issuing clinic's name, city and phone; and a QR code that opens the verification page at petclinicsoftware.com/cert/ followed by an 8-character code.
How does a boarding kennel or groomer verify it?
They scan the QR with any phone camera. The verification page shows the pet, its microchip and each vaccine as recorded when the certificate was issued, and checks the dates against today: green "valid" or red "expired" per vaccine, and a banner that turns to "Superseded" if the clinic has since issued a newer certificate. No app, account or login is needed at the kennel desk.
Can a certificate be faked?
A printout can be edited, but the verification page cannot. It is served from the clinic's record on petclinicsoftware.com, so a date changed on paper will not match what the QR opens, an unknown code returns "no certificate", and the issuing clinic and vet are named for any query. Always check the page address is petclinicsoftware.com/cert/.
Is it accepted for travel and housing societies?
Housing societies, kennels and groomers can verify it in one scan; whether they accept it is their decision. For air travel, airlines usually require a government-format health certificate signed by a registered vet; Pet Clinic Software prints the vaccination record with batch numbers that you attach to it.
What happens when a vaccine expires?
The certificate shows red for that vaccine on the next scan, the owner gets a WhatsApp reminder before and after the due date, and boarding bookings for that pet are blocked until the booster is recorded. After the booster, the clinic issues a new certificate with a new QR; the old one then shows "Superseded".
